Perhaps These Vents Were Made in Australia

Our transit authority recently built a new facility. They claim it cost 35 million dollars, but it's a little hard to see how. It definitely has some strange features. This is the back of the mechanic's shop. I'm guessing that these vents only exhaust air, so I suppose it doesn't matter that they point down (where people walk by).

But let's take a closer look at one of those labels on those vents...

Yes, this photo is oriented correctly. The opening of the vent is below the label...the label with "UP" clearly marked with an orienting arrow. It seems to me that the manufacturers of this vent must have had a good reason to bother telling us which way the vent should be pointing. Given what I know about my transit authority, I am doubtful they have a compelling reason to deliberately ignore this advice.

Roaches Check In, But You Don't Check Out.

Greeting from the O-Town Transit Center. Our friendly employee restroom attendant is waiting to serve you.

Just for scale, the cinder block our subject is on is 8 inches from top to bottom (the bug is facing the bottom of his brick).
